Odysseus Fund, LP is a concentrated long/short global equity fund launched in 2010 by Portal Capital, LLC. On the long side, the fund managers employ a bottoms-up thematic approach seeking companies with high barriers to entry, large insider ownership, recurring revenue and room for high, non-economically sensitive growth. On the short side, Odysseus Fund, LP pursues shares in companies that are long on hype, yet absent revenue and profit. Companies with inferior managements, deteriorating fundamentals, implausible business models and difficulty raising capital are also ideal short candidates. Odysseus Fund, LP is generally catalyst driven and is willing to take on concentrated positions to capitalize on considerable due diligence and a compelling level of conviction. Technical analysis is employed daily to closely monitor the portfolio, assist in the establishment of new positions and as a mechanism for risk control.
